Trust me to go over and over my work. I get some interest and I’m off again, rewriting the story I’ve written. In writing my novel, I went on an adventure with my protagonist to Ireland and its underwater surprises. Of course, I had to see everything but everything isn’t necessarily what will sell my novel or make the reader love it. So, I went through it one more time and surprised myself at how many extraneous words I could delete.
Editing or revising your own work is a humbling process. By the time you’ve read it for the umpteenth time, it’s hard to keep up the enthusiasm. But I have to admit, I was inspired by the odd gem, and hope others will have the same experience once my book is published.
