Pitching is a daunting task. Agents want to see your novel reduced to two pages. I’ve been struggling to do just that and still convey the passion and texture of my story. Later, as the community pool is closed for renovations, I’ll exercise my pulled hamstring in a hotel pool that reminds me of the novel I’m pitching. On the tiled walls around the swimming area are painted Orca whales, dolphins, sharks, Greek columns and statues underwater. It’s curious that I came to this place while editing my book. My protagonist, an underwater photographer and scuba diver, would have a good laugh if she wasn’t a fictional character.
